Surefoot has announced the European launch of its revolutionary concrete-free foundation system of the same name.
The new system uses a combination of patented footing plates and micro piles to spread load in a similar way to the roots of a tree. It requires no excavations or cement and can be installed in between 10 and 35 minutes, depending on the size being used, after which it is immediately load-bearing (up to 30 tons), meaning works can continue right away. Indeed, the company says a complete foundation for a home can be installed and construction begin in under a day, with no risk of weather delays.
The company says Surefoot can be used to support practically any building structure that needs a foundation. They are certified as structural steel fabricators to EN-1090-2 Execution Class 2 which covers multi story and public buildings, and because the Surefoot system resists high bending moments, it can be used for many atypical situations like communication towers, masts and wind turbines.
Mike Harding European Manager said: “There are compelling reasons to switch from concrete and traditional foundations to Surefoot, users are reporting up to 60% cost reductions in normal building conditions and much more with difficult/sensitive sites, slopes or poor ground conditions. Surefoot can used in combination with a concrete ring beam, block and beam or 100% prefab timber/steel, and best of all it's installed with common builders tools (a jack hammer) eliminating the expensive rigs and technicians normally associated with piling solutions."
